Biography

Wood engraver and sculptor Tim Jones was born in North Wales and is now based in regional Victoria, Australia. His work has been featured in major group exhibitions, including at the National Gallery of Victoria and the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, as well as in a touring exhibition organised by the British Society of Wood Engravers in the United Kingdom in 1987.

Jones has held significant appointments, including Artist-in-Residence at the University of Melbourne and Arts Fellow at Sydney Grammar School (1991–1992). In 2005, a survey exhibition of his work was presented at Stonington Gallery, Deakin University.

Since 1986, he has taught at a number of Australian institutions, including the Victorian College of the Arts. His work is held in major public collections, including the British Museum, the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, most state galleries, and several regional Victorian galleries. He is represented by Australian Galleries.
