Barry Spencer is a Melbourne-based artist and designer working at the intersection of letterforms, code, and clay. With a background in graphic and typeface design and university lecturing, his practice is driven by experimentation and the question “what if…?”. A finalist in the Omnia Art Prize and Korowa Ceramic Art Prize (2025–26), he has exhibited widely, including at Australian Galleries, Brunswick Street Gallery, and the Design in Motion Festival (Netherlands). In 2026, he undertook a residency with Northcote Pottery Supplies, continuing his exploration of tactile, speculative typography through ceramic and coded forms.
